Check out the post from last Wednesday where I talk about all musical intervals. Not that you necessarily need it, but because, it has links where you can listen to the sound of the interval, and I want to know if it works for you guys. Plus I worked really hard on it and I think it's cool. And your moms all really got excited about it.
Musical WOD
Originally created as a companion to a Wednesday night bible class I was teaching, this has now become the official home of the Musical Workout of the Day. I will be posting short musical workouts, lessons that will help to develop ear training, sight singing and musicianship in general

Perfect 5ths
OK, so now we'll jump into some ear training. Nearly everybody in the group has been through this process except Chris, so this will be a little bit of review, but we'll move quickly the next couple of days, so don't get bored. Also, I wrote the little quiz thing, and I think it's pretty cool.
So here is a chart of Perfect 5th spellings. Memorize it.
C G
D A
E B
F C
G D
A E
B F#
Cb Gb
Db Ab
Eb Bb
Fb Cb
Gb Db
Ab Eb
Bb F
Bbb Fb (that's B double flat)
C# G#
D# A#
E# B#
F# C#
G# D#
A# E#
B# F## (the double sharp actual looks like an x)
You'll need to be able to spell a 5th ascending or descending. The accidental for a perfect 5th will be the same for the upper and lower note, with the exception of the B-F group. As you can see the accidental of the F will be one accidental higher than the B. Easier to see than describe, so just look at all the B-F pairings.
Now on to the workout: http://www.l-n-f.com/intervaltester.htm
I corrected a couple of mistakes, but there may be more, so let me know if you find any. Post your results to the comments.

Awesome trip this weekend. Have you guys had a chance to look at the intervals post? I have more stuff to post, but I don't want to dump too much on you if you haven't had a chance to catch up, or if you have any questions.
What do you guys think about doing a road journal as part of the website? I can set it up so that we can each post to it, and when we get back from a trip we could put stories up. I think it would be a great way to create loyalty in our... I don't want to call them fans, because that word is too shallow, but you know what I mean. Somebody sees us at their youth rally, they later check out our website and see that we've told some funny story about them or someone they know. We've just made a friend for life. Plus I think people would just love hearing about the stuff that happens on our trips. Could be cool. Or not.
